Hey! FUN WITH FILTERS!
I took a walk along the boardwalk on a bright sunny afternoon in Venice, California. I had the beast with me along with a 24~85 f/2.8 Zoom lens. Considering all the madness going on in the news, I needed time away to recharge my coping mechanism. It looked like everyone here at the beach felt the same way, too.
This is from the shoebox. A collection of snaps that I forgot to add to other posts. On the other hand, FUN WITH FILTERS! I took these snaps with the beast and a zoom lens at Venice Beach, California. It was a great day to have a little fun in the sun.
Oh how spring has sprung. An oops-a-daisy time to remind us of ideals, and hope. To let us be goofy, and roll with laughter. Today was a good day to acknowledge that. Hope your day was good.
It was a lazy quiet afternoon the other day after all that rain the past few days. I took the beast out for a walk by Venice Beach and got lost in the sunshine.
Having fun with filters with these snaps from the shoebox. I took these images with the Nikon D800e and various lenses.
Having fun at Venice beach with tints and filters. Next week Santa Claus is comin’ to town.
It was fun times with my beast and filters.
Some days I get restless and wander around the neighborhood with my camera. When I return home I’ll move the images to my hard drive and let it settle. Later, maybe a week, or in this case months will pass before I view those images. It’s a process of rediscovery and suddenly what was old is new again. It gives me a fresh point of view of my images and breaks the monotony of venturing out again.
This is my last batch of images from a sunny 16 day on the Venice Boardwalk in Venice, CA. Fun times with filters and my Nikon D800e with 50mm f/1.4 lens.
These are more scenes on the Venice Boardwalk in Venice, CA. With this batch I was having fun with blur and grain (digital noise). I took a lot of snaps that day, and I’ll come back to them later. Right now I’m enjoying using my beast with the 50mm lens. I hope you all have fun with your snappers.
More scenes from the Venice Boardwalk. I’m playing around with vignettes and blur. Shot with Nikon D800e with 50mm f/1.4 lens.
Here’s a guy taking a moment to watch the tide roll in. Certainly, a moment of zen.
We all have our own style of taking photographs. I don’t think there is a hard fast rule on getting the shot, so long as you’re happy with the results.
Journalism aside, I believe photography is an art form enjoyed by all.
I’m still having fun with HDR on this sunny day in Venice, CA.
I was at Venice Beach the other day and had a jolly good time with my beast. There will be more to come.
Just a collection of photos taken on Christmas Day at Venice Beach, CA. It was a fun day. Enjoy.
I think for this lady the answer is yes. I hope you all had a happy holiday.
I can only imagine the glee the artist felt when completed. This must have been a labor of love. If you are in Los Angeles, please visit Venice Beach and check this place out. Artistry flourishes here.
I like Venice beach. Especially on the boardwalk where you see people being people. It was fun day for me. I tried out improvising a lens hood with a rolled up newspaper and failed. I caught a few snaps of young man practicing kick flips with his skateboard. The highlight of my day was doing a double take on a man who looked like county music legend, Kenny Chesney.
I love the beach and its wonderment . One of my favorite subjects to photograph are skateboarders. There are plenty of them at the Venice Beach Skate Park. Here is a collection of skateboarding action I’ve taken in the past.
Took my walkabout with the beast (Nikon D800E) to the Venice Boardwalk. It was a lovely day filled with humor and beauty.
Continuing with my fun using a 50mm manual focus Ai lens. This time having a bit of fun with filters.
Happily spending my Christmas vacation on the walkways of Venice Beach.
Some days you casually come upon things that happen for no particular reason, but delightful happenstance nonetheless.
Such as this man performing for no one in particular waiting for the band to kick in. No matter. He enjoyed the morning as I enjoyed his playing.
Or focusing my attention to the viewfinder thus having me completely unaware of my surroundings. I do enjoy my walkabout and glad to have my camera and capturing those unexpected moments.
Having fun with the Hassleblad and Kodak Tri-X 100 film.
I’ve been to the Venice Boardwalk for years. And this camper has always been there. Although its colors are muted, the message does ring out.
The latest Fuji X100T is out. Apparently a stack and a half better than original X100. I own an X100. It’s a nice little digital snapper. Gives me what I want.
I took a walk to the Venice Skateboard park with my beast in tow. It was a nice day and slow for a Saturday. However, there was this one guy who was shredding on the pavilion and glad I was there with my camera.
