About Me

a photo of my hasselblad on a tripodThank you for visiting my blog.  I live in Santa Monica, California.  I should explain why I call this site Dirty Lens Photography.  When I strap my camera over my shoulder, sometimes, the lint from my shirt collects on the lens as I’m walking.  Without realizing it, the front of my lens is covered in lint.  For street photography, I don’t always bother with it.

Most of my images were taken with film cameras.  It’s unfortunate film photography is not as prevalent today as it was a decade ago.  However, there is nothing more magical and breath taking like a well exposed film photograph. My 35mm film cameras are, Olympus OM-2n, Nikon F3 hp, Contax G2, Pentax Super ME, Canon F1-n.  My medium format (120mm) film cameras are, Mamiya 645 Pro, Hasselblad 500 c/m, Fujifilm G645 auto.

I am also including digital photography as well on this site, because a good photograph is a good photograph.  My digital cameras are, Nikon D800E, Fujifilm X100, and also snaps from my Olympus E-500 and Nikon D7000.

All photographs posted on this site were taken by me.    Enjoy the site.

    1. Thank you for checking out my site. Film photography will continue to be part of a photographer’s oeuvre. There is still magic in those old dusty negatives. Moreover, some film stock thought finished are being remanufactured by other houses and still finding its way to market. I can understand the instantaneous gratification digital has, but with film, I feel the wait for processing is worth it.
