I recently bought a book on Saul Leiter.  In the introduction Max Kazloff describes Leiter’s images as an intermingling between Mark Rothko and Henri Cartier-Bresson.  I still marvel at Cartier-Bresson’s images, and I’ve been to a Rothko exhibit at LACMA which was very moving to me.  But what I recognize from both is simplicity.  I believe  simplicity evokes a mood.

That’s what I strive for when taking snaps.   I’ll always try to keep my images simple…and not worry which way the mood swings.
